Site record

Versions

This page records the versions of the site: each release, what changed.

  1. 1.9current16/08/2026
    • Every scanned book on the site can now be searched, and every reader has a contents panel to jump by
    • Seven books that existed only as scans can now be read in full, each with an EPUB: Nếp Cũ: Con Người Việt Nam, Cầm Ca Việt Nam, Ký Vãng, Gái Đẹp Xứ Bắc, both volumes of Cao Nguyên Miền Thượng, and Nghệ Thuật Ăn Trộm
    • The downloadable PDF of Nếp Cũ: Con Người Việt Nam carries a hidden text layer, searchable like any ordinary document
    • Contents follow each book's own divisions; the three Hanoi imprints drop the titles this site had written and return to the books' own parts
  2. 1.816/08/2026
    • The scanned books can now be searched: type with or without the Vietnamese accents and the words are found
    • Three small buttons in the reader's corner: close, search, contents
    • Search and contents open beside the page, never over it; Back closes an open panel instead of leaving the book
  3. 1.716/08/2026
    • The downloadable Nhớ Thương scan is searchable: the machine-read text sits invisibly under each page, the images untouched
    • The caveat about machine-read text now appears on the reading page itself
  4. 1.615/08/2026
    • Opening a scan shows the book at once: no toolbar, nothing extra
    • Fullscreen keeps pinch-to-zoom; two quick taps turn two pages
    • On phones, the page slider gets its own row
  5. 1.514/08/2026
    • The timeline now covers the early writing years; printing years follow the library records
    • One typeface across the whole site: Be Vietnam Pro
    • The footer says plainly what its visit counter counts
  6. 1.413/08/2026
    • The rights page states plainly that the full texts are published
    • The press archive is described for what it is
    • The site's security was hardened
  7. 1.312/08/2026
    • Every digitised book has its complete facsimile and an EPUB
    • Viewing and downloading became one consistent row: on the card, in the reader, on the Nhớ Thương page
    • The biography gained a family gallery; the young portrait the family chose now leads the home page
  8. 1.211/08/2026
    • The eleven-volume series became readable in full
    • The works page opens with a chronology
    • Book covers and portraits open in one shared viewer
  9. 1.111/08/2026
    • The machine-read text of the four Hanoi imprints (1942–1950) went up, with part titles and a contents rail
    • 32 pages missed by a processing fault were recovered
    • The English and French machine translations were later removed, keeping the author's Vietnamese
  10. 1.010/08/2026
    • toananh.com launches — an archive devoted to the writer Toan Ánh: his life, his bibliography, and his surviving books, digitised
    • Every book can be read on the site itself, its pages turning like paper
    • A press archive built by reading and selecting each article
    • The version number sits in the footer; every build is checked before release
